Aztec Water Transportation
One of the ways that Aztecs had travelled through waster was by canals, especially in the great city of Tenochtitlan. Since this city was on an island, canals were dug throughout the island for the ease of travel. The Aztecs had built canoes by burning the center of trees and then carving the tree until it was shaped like a canoe. The canoes were mainly used for bringing fresh fruit and vegetable to the markets. The canoes had varied in size but at most some could hold up to 6 people.
One important use of canoes during the fall of the Aztecs was when the Spanish were trying the leave Tenochtitlan after killing many Aztecs through the causeways. The Aztecs got in canoes and planned to attack the Spanish as they were leaving. This was very successful as it had killed many Spanish and some were left to die in the river where they were injured.
